Luis Alberto Urrea’s 2005 novel The Hummingbird’s Daughter is an astounding book and should not be missed.

Bolaño’s The Savage Detectives is what jumps out at me, at least if the DF is where you’re coming. A number of names of places are changed, though; for instance, Café Quito is really Café La Habana.

David Lida’s book, while not fiction, was pretty good too—again, assuming you’re coming to the DF.
